Welcome to Trigonogroves Virtual Cafe!

Hibiscus in Methoni Methoni was well known for its main street lined with Hibiscus trees. As the town has become busier and new Shops open, some trees have been damaged and removed, and others replaced by a different, pink, variety which does not have anywhere near the impact of the originals. Luckily a few trees remain on some of the side roads.

Many Restaurant and cafe owners have modernised their premises to offer comfortable, relaxing facilities with widescreen TV, etc. Change is natural but it is important that some traditional premises remain, with their painted wooden furniture and dedication to the Greek style, music and cuisine.

Menu!

Since I don't enjoy cooking, I appreciate those who do so it is a pleasure to link to a site featuring Greek Recipes.

Why "re-invent the wheel" when you can help other websites up the ladder by linking to them, at the same time giving your visitors a deeper insight into Greek life?

Methoni Swings A page for children
Methoni square cafe table Methoni has a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants, some with internet access. Residents and visitors stop by to take a break or discuss business plans, catch up on news and sport, etc.

English and other European languages are spoken. But you could also practise your Greek!

Sport

In Methoni, and throughout Greece, it is normal for residents to gather at local tavernas, bars and cafes to enjoy sport on TV. Much nicer than watching at home!

Social Life

Trigono-Lamda (trigonogroves.com) has been featured on:

Meeting friends and making new acquaintances from all over the world is one of the great pleasures of Methoni. Engaging in conversation isn't a skill that comes naturally to all of us, but it is an important and wonderful feature of Greek social life. The Trigono Lamda motto "protect and share" arose from the instinctive need of humans to want to protect what they have and be individuals, yet be part of a community and achieve a feeling that they "belong".

So, from people I have met, not just in Methoni, here are:

The other Trigonos

Trigono In the far North of Greece is the other Trigono, unknown to Trigono-Lamda until recently. While there is no connection between the two, the Trigono area in Northern Greece is a mainly agricultural area with a diminishing population, but a lively interest in its future, so we have similar interests.

and for those who love art: Trigono Art Gallery, Kifissia, Athens
